WHITTLE SCRAPPER HEADS

Whittle Scrapper Heads are novelty carvings that are the end result of carving practice heads.  Every carving project is a practice in experiencing “the more one carves the better one carves.”  There is never a wasted moment when doing practice carving because one can experience the interplay between creative imagination guiding the dexterity skill of the carving hand maneuvering the slicing tool to shape the wood to correspond with the imagined subject.

Practice carving teases creative imagination to explore subtle ways to shape the wood with a variety of serendipity cuts with a flair of whimsy.  Often this practice activity of “imaginative doodling” will discover “accidental designs” that become a guiding resource for future creativity that simply “pops in the mind” while carving.  Better yet, such “creative feelings” become a copy of “childhood play” all over again as a form of “inspiration.” Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. This is why Whittle Scrapper Heads is a fun pursuit while creating the whimsy of novelty fun in little carvings.  Whittle Scrapper Heads follows the old carver’s law: “Leave no wood uncarved.”
