KNIFE HANDLE ART – Rich Smithson

Rich Smithson along with his wife Holli and daughter Skylar own and manufacture Helvie Knives.   Besides making popular carving knives, Rich is also an artist who decorates many special edition knife handles with his wood burning creations. 

Recently he was commissioned to create a knife handle for the 31st.  Artistry in Wood show and he asked the WOOD BEE CARVER  to carve a knife blade cover of an aviator to identify with the logo of the Dayton Carvers Guild which contains the Wright Brothers plane.

The photographs below show four views of the art work on the handle along with pictures of the aviator blade cover.



Rich was also commissioned to create a knife handle for the Renegade Carving Seminar as depicted in the photographs below.
