HELVIE HOBO

The Helvie Hobo was carved for Rich and Holli Smithson who are owners and manufacturers of Helvie Knives.  They are producing a “Signature Knife” of my design of blade and handle shape.  The hobo was carved exclusively with the “Signature Knife” in the photo.  Their  daughter Skylar likes to be included in collecting wood carvings.  Skylar is all smiles with the snowwoman gift by the WOOD BEE CARVER and the Santa by Will Hayden.

The Helvie Hobo was carved out of an inch and half square by five inch tall block of basswood and colored using artist oil paint thinned with boiled linseed oil.

Helvie Knives have long been well received by wood carvers over the years and like so many custom knife makers their knives become favorites.

Skylar’s carving collection is growing in that at the recen Eastern Woodland Carving Show in Converse, Indiana, several carvers gave he carvngs to add to her collection as displayed in the following photograph.
