A FACE-EYE STUDY has been put in a pdf format and can be viewed and printed by going to “BEE HIVE” under the left hand column and click on “FACE-EYE STUDY”.

This is one of the  educational projects used in the classes I teach about Whittle-Carving or carving only with a knife.

Woodcarving is a learn by doing activity and the more one carves the better one carves. The only way a carver will learn to carve eyes, or learn to sharpen, or learn a good method to finish any carving is to practice by doing it over and over again.  Never be afraid to experiment, to try a new approach or simply carve more often.   As I have said from the beginning, “Would be carvers would be carvers if they would carve wood,” so get a piece of wood and a carving knife or tool and begin to shape that piece of wood into a carving project.  You will be a better carver for doing so.
