Harry Limings is a carver the carving world needs to know about and to see his carvings in person whenever he participates in a carving show in Ohio.  This photo was taken at the October 2009 Cincinnati Woodcarving Show and Harry will be at the Artistry in Wood Show November 14 and 15 in the Dayton Airport Exposition Center.  The photograph journey that follows gives a introduction into his unique art and creativity.

This carving of a peacock perched on top of an egg basket of grapes with grape leaves and vines on a turned pedestal received a Blue Ribbon in Class and Category and then received Third Best of Show at Cincinnati.  This same carving has done well at Johnny Appleseed Show and Strongsville Show (both in Ohio) this year.  Artistic design, precise and pristine carving cuts and clean finish are characteristic of Harry’s style of carving.  Journey along the photograph trail that follows to enter the wonderful carving world of Harry Limings.

Harry began carving as a young lad using a pocket knife to carve his creations over the years through his working years in adulthood.  After retirement in 2000 Harry has devoted himself to expanding his carving horizons by joining a carving group in Newark, Ohio and participating in carving shows and other carving activities.  It is an inspiration to view his carvings. Thank you Harry for your gift of wood carving.
