Rich Smithson of HELVIE KNIVES created the wood burned art work on a commemorative HELVIE knife that shows off his dual artistic talents of wood burned art and knife craftsmanship.  The knife along with the base carved by the WOOD BEE CARVER will be raffled during the Saturday night banquet at the Artistry in Wood Show, October 14.

The Artistry in Wood  show takes place at the Roberts Centre, Wilmington, OH (exit 50 ~ Interstate 71 and State Route 68) October 14 and 15, 2017 with over two hundred wood carvers and wood workers displaying and selling their wood creations of art.  Woodcarving Illustrated will present several demonstrations by a variety of wood related artist and there are numerous vendors of everything  for he wood enthusiast with tools, wood, supplies, books and other items of interest. The WHITTLE DOODLE base was carved in a three-inch square block of mahogany wood using only knives to carve each side and chip carve the top as displayed in the following photographs.
